Annual Concert 2019-20
Celebrating 60 years of Greenlawns School, Worli was more than just a performance. It was a triumph of the past 60 years. There surely were a myriad of obstacles
and challenges along the way, but the School Management and Principal have been pillars of strength with their encouragement and support.
Our ‘Extravagant 60 years Annual Concert’ was celebrated on Thursday, 5th December, 2019 at the Nehru Auditorium, Worli. This event, which was hosted by our dear
Principal Ms. Caroline Vaz, was blessed by the presence of our esteemed chief guest Mr. Lalit Gandhi, co-founder of our school, Mrs. Usha Gandhi as well as the Principals of different schools in Mumbai.
The Diamond Jubilee celebration provided the school with an opportunity to showcase its achievements not only for the Academic year but also to highlight the
progress the school has made in the past 60 years. The evening commenced with the lighting of the lamp by our respected Trustees and vivacious Principal. The auspicious moment was
followed by an energetic dance cum lezium performance on ‘Deva Shree Ganesha’. The tiny tots of the Pre-primary section performed on the theme ‘Save the World’. It was
heartwarming to watch the little ones dance gracefully on stage. The students of the Primary Section set the stage on fire with their lively
performances on the different folk dances of India. These performances were followed by a peaceful performance of Rhythmic Yoga and Choral recitation by the middle School
children. As the school celebrated its Diamond Jubilee, it was also necessary to celebrate the school’s achievements in the academic and co-curricular fields. It was a proud moment
when the Trustees were felicitated with a replica model of Greenlawns School, Worli by our Principal, Ms. Caroline.
The academic achievers and the students who had brought laurels to the school in various competitions and contests were also felicitated for their accomplishments during
the academic year. The cherry on the cake was the simple, but value-based musical ‘The Prodigal Son’ performed by the students of the secondary section. It simply mesmerised
the audience. The event concluded with the eye-catching ‘Fashion Show’ and a vote of thanks by our Principal.
The 60 years celebration was a perfect package of knowledge and entertainment from our beautiful comperes, the dance performances to plays, musical events to
speeches, choral recitation to yoga and Fashion show. The Annual Day gave students an opportunity to showcase their various talents and share the immense pride of being a part of the
grand Diamond Jubilee celebration. The team work and efforts put in by the teachers and students would not have
been possible without the guidance, support and ideas of our dear Principal Ms. Caroline Vaz.
