PRAISES RECIEVED FROM PRINCIPALS ACROSS
The Motivational Dancing Tale (Dance Video)
Since the world changed overnight due to COVID -19, teachers have constantly been
missing and working out ways to be with children. Our Principal, Ms. Caroline Vaz came
up with an innovative idea and discussed with me the idea to release a dance video. My
joy knew no bound as I was given an opportunity to once again do something that has
always been my passion. After the conversation with Ms Caroline, I just could think
about, “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass… it is learning to dance in the rain.”
For me this opportunity came as a blessing in the storm.
I had too many ideas in my head and I could faintly see the video playing in my mind.
The task was to make the faintly picture turn to a vivid picture. Without wasting any time
I conducted a Zoom meeting with the dance children from Std 7 to Std 10. They were
wondering how we would release the video without meeting, practicing and most
importantly synchronize the formation. After the brainstorming session with the children
I discussed with them what I had in mind. The discussion led to a mixed bag of ideas
from everyone and the faintly painted picture started turning into a vividly, colourful
picture. I assigned a time slot to each child to personally select the space and show me
on video calling that would be their stage for a few days to perform. Once the space
was finalized we were ready with the song. The challenging bit to it was to meet online
at a time which would be feasible to everyone. Soon I realized “It’s all about finding the
calm in the chaos.”
I started practicing with one child at a time online. Individual part was choreographed
and ready. The mammoth task was to bring the act together and arranging it in
sequence. After long hours of hard work and sleepless nights the video was ready. We
named it “The Motivational Dancing Tale. I had butterflies in my stomach when it was
time to show the video to Ms Caroline. She loved the video and said it was marvelous
and prosfessional job done. She suggested the video should be uploaded on YouTube.
It was shared with the teachers and then with the parents. I was soon flooded with calls
and messages from teachers, children who felt they too wanted to be a part of the video
and parents. I was overwhelmed with the response.
“In the midst of chaos, there is also an opportunity”. Ms. Caroline shared with me how
the work was not only loved but admired by many Principals of esteemed schools.
I personally would like to extend my gratitude to the Trustees of our school for making
me believe that “the sky is the limits” and for having the immense trust and faith in me
and my work.
I would also like to thank Ms. Caroline for being a shining light in the time of dark clouds
hovered above us during this pandemic. She made me believe that no disaster in the
world can stop a teacher from connecting the children.
My heartfelt thank you to the parents for their support and last but not the least my
children without whom this video would just be a plain, simple idea and imagination.
They turned it into the reality of colours and movement to my thoughts ideas and
imagination.
