Grandparents Day
Grandparents are a family’s greatest treasure, the founders of a loving legacy, the greatest storytellers, the keepers of traditions. Grandparents are the family’s strong foundation. Through their special love and care, grandparents keep a family close at heart. To honour them, Greenlawns High School celebrated Grandparents Day on 18th August, 2021.
Under the guidance of our Principal, Miss Caroline Vaz, the show was organised with great pomp and show. The event was organised on an online platform. Our students put in a lot of efforts to make our dear grandparents comfortable. The function started with our Principal’s kind words which brought twinkle to their eyes. This was followed by series of performance by our students. A poem was recited and dance was performed. There were appreciation speeches in Hindi and Gujarati. Our children staged an act on showcasing the importance of grandparents in one’s life. To balance the tones set by the events thus far, we had engaged our dear grandparents into bond-building activities like Yoga, non-flame cooking and preparing a fridge magnet. Appropriate music and enthusiastic grandparent-grandchild combinations made these activities runaway hits.
The hosts and the organising team interacted on a one-to-one basis with the guests. The general mood was one of exultation and everyone seemed truly happy. It was a successful event indeed, and the School as always would be pleased to organise many such more events.
