Masterchef (Primary)

Cooking with kids provides practical experience with many essential skills such as reading, following directions, and measuring. Getting involved in cooking helps your child to develop fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination, and even early concepts of math and science. The primary section has children from the ages of 5 years to 10 years. Since the competition was held in February - we used the theme “LOVE IS IN THE AIR” The respective house teachers worked in coordination with the student and assisted them with ideas that they could use since it was a “No Fire” cooking. The children were creative and got semi-prepared food items from home. They assembled and decorated the food items to have their final products of one drink and one dish. The students creatively decorated food items and also prepared menu cards for the same, but definitely, it being a competition, everyone can't be a winner. The Blue House took the winning stand, the second place was won by the Yellow house and the third place by the Red house.

Spelling Bee (Primary)

Spelling is important because it aids in reading. It helps cement the connection that is shared between sounds and letters. Learning high-frequency sight words also has been shown to help with both reading and writing. This is why students learn sight words during their early years. This competition aimed to build vocabulary skills. The participants were given a wide range of words to be spelled and formed. The competition comprised of various age-appropriate rounds. It helped the children analyze and understand how words can be used. A great way of encouraging children to develop reading and pronunciation of words. Each house had four participants from class 1 to class 4. Extempore is a speech that is given on the spot without preparation. It is a test of one’s knowledge about a topic as well as the ability to express oneself in a framed manner within a limited time. The Interhouse Ingenuity Competition (Senior School) was held on 16th December 2019. Here, the four houses were given the opportunity to showcase their ability to think out of the box under pressure with regards to various realms, ranging from art & craft, linguistic and musical prowess, acting & culinary skills, advertising & marketing strategies, and the likes. The budding Young Minds completely stunned the audience and judges with their ingenious take on every task presented to them.
Ingenuity is seeing what everybody has seen, but thinking what nobody has thought!

The Interhouse Masterchef Competition was held on Friday, 20th December 2019. The theme of the competition was ‘Colours of Christmas’. The Houses used vibrant colours like Red, Green, and Yellow. All things had to be pre-prepared and brought from home and no fire was to be used. Marks were been allotted for Presentation, Theme, Creativity & Cleanliness. Each house comprised of four participants. The Masterchef Competition was conducted to instill a profound love for food in the minds and hearts of our students. Food is also a creative form of art that nourishes our body and touches our soul. Many noteworthy chefs from around the world have had remarkable encounters with food that have sparked their own legacy with food. We aimed to help our children experience similar encounters while they were still young. The creativity and perfection with which are children presented their dishes surpassed all areas of excellence. The taste of the flavors of the dish blended perfectly. There was not a single flaw that the judges could find and the work presented by the children made it immensely difficult to judge them. We were left with a feeling of wonder and awe as we watched our child plate quality food at such a young age. General Knowledge Quiz (Secondary)

The inter-house General Knowledge competition for the Secondary section was conducted on 20th December 2019. The Quiz consisted of three rounds.

Each round carried approximately 12 questions that were enthusiastically answered by the participants of all four houses. Each house namely the Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow had four participants each. The quiz was challenging and exciting and was thoroughly enjoyed by the participants as well as the audience. The winner of the quiz was the Red House. The Red House participants were: Jigar Mehta - Std 9, Jinay Chheda - Std 8, Yug Chheda - Std 7, Pulkit Agarwal - Std 6All of them were awarded certificates for their brilliant performance. - Ms. Pradnya

I'm sure all these dialogues bring to your mind, an array of dramatic emotions. This is what came to life at our Inter-house Dramatics Competition (Senior School), held on 13th December 2019. The four houses were given a situation and an emotion, each, by the draw of chits. Each house was expected to weave the script keeping in mind the criteria provided. We're positive, the young minds in the audience surely picked a skill or two with having witnessed each performance and the invaluable feedback from our esteemed judges that followed. This surely was a splendid afternoon where multiple emotions were unwrapped as each unique plot unraveled. After all, what's life without a little drama! Rangoli Competition (Primary)

Theme: Simple Rangoli patterns from basic shapes.
Size: 4 tiles
Rangoli is an art form, originating in the Indian subcontinent, in which patterns are created on the floor or the ground using materials such as colored rice, dry flour, colored sand, or flower petals. It is usually made during Diwali. Rangoli, also known as kolam, is a folk art from India. Rangoli are decorative designs made on living room and courtyard floors during Hindu festivals typically consisting of bright colors. The purpose of rangoli is to feel strength, generosity, and it is thought to bring good luck. Rangoli designs can be simple geometric shapes, deity impressions, or flower and petal shapes (appropriate for the given celebrations), but they can also be very elaborate designs crafted by numerous people. Use only Rangoli colors.(No flowers or other decorations) The area where the Rangoli is done is to be cleared by the groups respectively. Teacher in Charge: Ms. Alpa and Miss Avani
