Nalanda MasterChef 2020-21
Julia Child once said – ‘ No one is born a great cook , one learns by doing’ . This is exactly what we learnt from the Nalanda Masterchef Competition. The participants who took part in this online cooking/baking competition were Aditi kulkarni , Swasti Kadam ,Namaha kangutkar and Swaranjali Suryavanshi . The teacher who guided us was Ms Arlene . The minute we came to know about this competition , ideas started flooding our young minds . We had multiple zoom calls with Ms . Arlene who encouraged and supported us at every step . It was a completely new experience for Aditi and Swasti as they were juniors . They learnt a lot of valuable qualities from this event such as creativity , innovation , presentation and of course cooking and baking skills . Aditi picked a very different and rustic theme – Indian musical instruments. She beautifully carved pineapple, watermelons , cut different types of fruits and turned it all into musical instruments which was quite jaw dropping . Swasti chose a breathtaking theme – Captain Cook . She made ‘ Sailboat Paneer Tikka Quesadillas with Octopus Mayo dip’ which was extraordinary , creative and out of the box . Namaha chose the most elegant and glamorous theme- Fine Dine . She made dynamic vegan sushi and banoffee pie trifle . It was very impressive and a brilliant idea . She presented it like a professional chef and displayed the most amazing dishes . Swaranjali chose the theme – Quinceanera. She made healthy and nutritious dishes such as tangy tacos, nacho shots , fruity avocado brownie bowls. It looked fresh, colourful and terrific. The most awaited moment was the announcement of the winner. Namaha won first place! We are so proud of our young master chefs and our winner of course! This would have not been possible without the constant love and support of Ms. Arlene! We would lastly like to thank Ms Caroline for giving us this golden opportunity even during times like Covid 19. She inspires us to learn more every day. Thank you Ms caroline!
