Kavyotasav at St.Gregorious School-Poetic Ode to our National Language

Moisty black clouds sailed high above in the sky. Drizzling water sputtered from those dense black clouds even in the midst of the morning hue. Along with some talented students of our established school- Madhura, Arnav, Namaha, Dravya and I, Riddhi, had been to St. Gregorious for The KAVYOTSAV. We were accompanied by our own cherub, the one who always showered us with suggestions to walk on the right path, Miss Rohini. Just as we entered the dreary room which looked so from outside with dense excitement and endeavours of doing our best, to our astonishment, all the participants seated there glowed just like the bright rays of the sun in tranquility because we were not aware of who we all actually were. The hall echoed with elation, nervousness and the best of feelings to win the sparkling award. The only common thing among all of us, was the intense desire to stand as proud students with florid cheeks of happiness in front of that vast crowd.  Right then the host announced, "Could we have Greenlawns Worli on the stage?" Shook but amazingly happy. We stepped forth with our feeling sauntering forthright the judges. There was a spark. A glow or just a bright light getting into our eyes as we stood there. With every glance of Miss Rohini's lovable and motivating face, our aspirations were lifted higher just like the eagle's fly. A matter of one-twenty seconds. The audience might have laughed their hearts out but for us it was a stroll through heavenly pleasures and achievements. Clap! Clap! Clap! It roared in from every direction which made a part of the hall. Smiling from ear to ear, we got down the platform which seemed to us as God's holy lap. The thunders of rain continued for about half an hour. It seemed as if it wouldn't stop for the next plenty days. The enlightening rays of the bright staunch sun seemed to be facing a traffic congestion and then the results were announced. We didn't win. Deep down our hearts, we hadn't lost! It seemed to me that we finally found food to satisfy our appetite but couldn't swallow it up because of dentistry issues. Misery and disbelief surrounded us in our solemnity. Stepping outside, out of the blue, the rays started making their way. They shone. Shone so bright. Bright just like the light which glows in our eyes. And we did not lose hope then. Instead decided to get our prestigious school's name imprinted on every winners list of each competition. And we did it. During the Pawar Public School event, we won. That makes us belive. All's well that ends well. The realisation of losing did not affect us, Because all our teachers' ultimate trust upon us, helps us fight against every fuss.-

Frank Anthony Debate-Sharpening our Argumentative Skills

Frank Antony debate is a prestigious competition which sees an impressive number of elite schools competing for the first position at the All India level. This is an excellent opportunity for our senior group of students to hone their speaking skills. The exposure to this level of debate and the tooth and nail fight to secure a position at the top made a huge difference as our children gained a lot of insight and experience. The students showed their mettle and performedwell. Both the pupils, Jigar Mehta and Dev Talreja proved to be a force to reckon with. The thought provoking topic was vey interesting, ‘Education plays a key role in promoting Democracy’. They both had one hour and use of gadgets was forbidden. The entire debate was very well fought and our children did exceptionally well.

CNM Poems Come Alive – No War Know Peace

It is said, that those who are at War with others, are not at Peace with themselves.

What is War?  What is Peace?

Based on the topic 'War & Peace', CNM School at Vile Parle, had organized a Choral recitation Competition for the young minds from middle school to explore these two powerful & intersecting themes. It was a competition that was indeed a spectacular portrayal of multiple perspectives towards this very theme, that each human experiences both, within himself/herself and around him/her. It was a great learning experience to watch so many other schools partciapte and put forth creative ideas on the topic and on Choral recitation as a recital technique.

This event has taught us multitasking and has groomed our leadership qualities. CL’s and ACL’s not only had the responsibility to lead the participants of all the events in Allure but also to get themselves prepared for the Personality Contest to win the Title of Mr. or Ms, Allure which had several phases to pass like Interview, Talent round, ramp walk, viva etc….. Ms. Reema had put in all her efforts not only to train groom and get us ready to compete for the title but also taught us how to lead the contingent and get them ready and confident to compete with other schools. On the final day at Sophia auditorium when we walked down the ramp the cheers from my school brought much more enthusiasm in us which led us to the the viva round where the judges shot difficult questions at us but as prepared by my teacher Ms.Reema, answering to those questions was a child’s play for us. The final round was the most difficult round where everyone was given a picture and was asked to talk on it All the hardwork put in was worth when Aditya Patil won the title of Mr. Allure and Dev Talreja won the title of Mr. Confident which was a great achievement and a sense of pride for our school and parents Two months of sincere practices helped us to put all the pieces of the Puzzle together. It was a memorable and sweet and sour journey. We had a very successful allure and  won most popular school Trophy. We also bagged many prizes under different categories like performing arts, literary arts, sports, fine arts like JAM, Drama on  FRIENDS, tug of war, Investors ceremony, face off, Acapella etc… Allure was a three days event.
