Tell Me Why Quiz – Interschool Quiz Competition


The Interschool Quiz Competition titled ‘Tell Me Why?’ organised by Malayala Manorama, was held on Sunday, 8th December 2019 at Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) at Fort. Eight teams consisting of two participants per team participated from our school. The teams included Devansh Dhokad(Std 5) Manav Dhokad (Std 6), Bhavya Jain (Std 6) and Tatva Bhansali (Std 6), Aarav Gosrani (Std 6) and Pulkit Agarwal (Std 6), Ishwar Prem (Std 7) and Harsh Jakkan (Std 7), Saumya Shirwaikar (Std 7) and Rashi Ladhani (Std 7), Neev Ranka (Std 7) and Vedant Goyal (Std 7), Arnav Zagade (Std 7) and Swaranjali Suryavanshi (Std 7), Vedant Gondhali (Std 8) and Vrinda Padiyar (Std 6).The quiz commenced with a preliminary written round, which was followed by an oral round on stage. The quiz aimed at testing the knowledge and intellect of the students in every subject. It inspired our children to learn new ideas. The excitement that the children felt on recollecting concepts was truly noteworthy. Such competitions encourage our students to push themselves to the best of their ability with the aim of emerging victorious in every academic field. -Ms. Gretel D’mello

AISM Creative Writing Competition


The AISM Creative Writing Competition was held on Wednesday, 10th July 2019 at JBCN International School, Borivali. The two participants in this competition were our creative minds Aarav Shah (Std 9) and Jash Doshi (Std 10).The young masterminds were given the opportunity to tap into their creative instincts in isolation at the resource centre before the commencement of the competition. Among a range of creative topics, Aarav Shah wrote about something which he did the past and regretted now, while Jash Doshi wrote a detailed description of the city of Mumbai during the pleasant monsoon season. The AISM Creative Writing Competition aimed at encouraging students to nurture their creativity in the best way possible. It also motivates budding authors to realise their potential in creating original compositions. -Ms. Gretel D’mello

Gundecha Education Academy (GEA)


Gundecha Education Academy (GEA), Oshiwara held  Interschool sports competitions for the pre-schoolers in the 16th of December, 2019. During the event, children participated in various races and play zone events. The day started with a walk past by participants from 19 schools all over the city. Ten students from our preprimary section took part in this interschool event.  More than the physical activity, the event helped children build confidence and social skills, and also taught them benefits of goal-setting and practice. We were delighted to see the  enthusiasm and discipline among the children.

We Are The World


The interschool competitions aid children in developing the ability to handle the pressure.Flexibility, strength, persistence and courage are all critical components of mental strengthand these real-world skills are useful in every area of our lives and careers. It not only givesthem confidence to stand in any circumstances but also helps to build their strong decisionmaking power.‘We Are The World’ is an Interschool International Cultural Extravaganza. It helps children toshowcase their talent in different categories like Literary Arts, Fine Arts, Performing Arts,Flagship events which includes the events like Got the moves, Devils wear Prada, JAM,Whacky sports, Fifa, Acapella, The final Judgement, Paint it etc……This Interschool competition is conducted on a huge scale by the Rotract Club of HR College(RCHR) to give the platform to all the talented participants from the different schools from std.7 to 10. We participated in all the events organized on 30 th November and 1 st December 2019on the open ground and in HR college.Children practiced for all their respective events in school as well as after school. It helpedthem to learn teamwork. It was a fun journey of a roller coaster as more than 27 events wereconducted in 2 days. We participated with the contingent of more than 75 children. NIE Be Creative–Collage Making Competition


Tatva Bhansali-2nd Place in NIE Be Creative–Collage Making Competition

The Times Of India NIE organized an interschool collage competition which was held at Seawood Grand Central Mall, Vashi. There were children around 250 who participated from different schools of Mumbai. The theme of the competition was“My Favourite Cartoon Character” which was given on the spot. The programme started with the lighting of the lamp and followed by the light back ground music.The students participated in the competition with zeal and enthusiasm. The collage prepared by the students expressed their ardent desire of their creativity.Tatva Bansali of std VI won the second prize in Junior category with the trophy, medal and certificate. It was a proud moment for our school, but this was only possible with the motivation and the guidance of our principal Ms Caroline Vaz.The programme ended with the vote of thanks.Teacher in charge : Ms Alpa Shah

Saumya Khedekar-Consolation Prize at TIMES NIE Colour Splash

Art can affect our mood in positive way, making us feel happier, calmer or even inspire to do something. Everywhere you go art is evident. An art can give information and motivation through pictures, it makes life joyful. Whereas art an music goes hand in hand, the team of NIE had organized the art competition named “Colour Splash”. This is to play with colours and put your creativity on it. This competition was held on 28/11/2019 at Phoenix Martketcity Mall, Kurla. There were around 200 students who participated from different Mumbai schools. The topic was given on the spot which was “save energy”. Our school student Saumya Khedekar of std VIII won the consolation prize. It was a very proud moment for our school.

Riddhi Jain and Anusha Jain-2nd prize in Abhivyakti Essay Writing Competition at Pawar Public School


I,Anusha Jain had represented Greenlawns School,Worli in an inter-school Hindi Essay Writing competition on 17 September,2019. The competition was held at Pawar Public School,Bhandup.My Terminal Examinations had started. I was confused whether I should participate or not but then I was encouraged by my two teachers,Miss Vandana and Miss  that I should participate in it.They gave me moitivation that I should try to participate.I am very grateful that I listened to them and secured the 2nd position in 7&8 category.At that point of time this proverb suited me perfectly “Don’t count your chickens before they hatch”.But one of my teachers,Miss Vandana, that had accompanied me throughout the competition;had a lot of faith in me and the dream came true as the results were announced.I would really would be thankful to them as they were always there if I had any doubt regarding the competition.I am grateful to have teachers like them.I would also like to thank my Principal Miss Caroline Vaz as she also supported me.

Megh Malhar – Sing to your Heart


Megh Malhar has always been awaited interschool competition for all the singers. It is one of the best competition which helps children to grow in the field of singing under the suggestions and guidance of well-known artists who bless the competition as judges. Under the guidance of our mentor Ms. Radhika Dangi our students were ready to rock the floor. This event was conducted by Greenlawns High School on 30 th August, 2019. It was a funfilled experience for all the particpants.The competition provided a platform to display the talent of our students on the theme Bollywood. We selected to perform on Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosale duet song from the given choices of the singer artists. Our participants performed on the medley of the chosen duet. It encouraged our star singers to perform confidently and showcase their talent. Thank you for the great support and guidance to our dear Principal, Ms. Caroline Vaz.

Maahi Jain - Best Actor-One Act Play Competition at Activity High School


Interschool Competitions helps in interactions between different schools. It also helps children to showcase their talent on a big stage. It gives them confidence to stand in any circumstances. In the month of September Activity High School had conducted the Inter school competition for One Act Play with the theme as ‘Twisted Fairytales’. Our school participated in this competition to showcase our talent in acting. We had performed on ‘Beauty and the Beast’ with a twist as per the theme. While working on our script we all remembered and shared our childhood memories. Though we did not win in this eventbut out hard work paid off. The experience we had from writing the script to learning the dialogues to practicing with our friends along with our teachers seemed to be a journey of a fairytale.Mahi Jain from the std. 10 won the Best Actress and was facilitated with an Award and a certificate. Miss Reema and Miss Shivani were the Teachers in-charge of this competition who put their whole and soul into this event. The children not only practiced in school but also met after school for extra practices and this is all what the essence of interschool is. It bind the children together and arouse the feeling of oneness and the feeling of pride for participating for their school. Overall this event was really worth taking part in.We thank our dear Principal, Ms. Caroline Vaz for the opportunity, guidance and letting us participate in this wonderful event.
