POEMS COME ALIVE AT GREENLAWNS HIGH SCHOOL
Mumbai: The power of the verse was in full bloom at the 19th annual inter school choral recitation competition, ‘Poems Comes Alive’, held on Friday, 13 September, 2019 at Greenlawns High School.
Students from twenty three participating schools recited poems in groups of ten to twelve. The groups recited different forms of poetry, on different themes.
The students of Campion School impressed the judges with their stirring recitation of ‘The Night of the Scorpion' by Nissim Ezekiel and secured the first prize. The group from Jamnabai Narsee School and Arya Vidya Mandar, Bandra bagged the second and third prizes respectively.
The judges included Ms. Alison Dsouza, a Trinity School of London certified elocution teacher, Ms. Priya Srinivasan the director of The Pomegranate Workshop and Mr. Sanjeev Pai, an experienced language trainer. Greenlawns High School this year completes a glorious 60 years.
It ranks among the top schools of Mumbai. Though it lacks the Greenlawns it succeeds in laying a green foundation at the grass root level.
We at Greenlawns strive to bring about a holistic development in our students by encouraging them to participate in various extracurricular activities. Our Principal, Ms.Sangeeta Thacker believes in promoting the children to step out of school and venture into participating in a variety of events hosted by other schools.
