ACING IN ACE CHEF

Date: 27-02-2021

“A recipe has no soul,
You as a cook must bring soul to the recipe ”

Cooking competitions for young chefs are popping up everywhere these days. Should young chefs participate in cooking competitions…. And if so, why?
The reason is that such competitions force young minds to use their creativity and innovation to invent new recipes and appreciate their own working skills.

Greenlawns decided to give its children a hands-on experience for an online competition called “Ace Chef ”, which was held on the 27th of February 2021. The teachers in charge of helping the students were Miss Amrita Thakur and Miss Surita Shah.
Both of them together did a wonderful job in guiding and encouraging the participants to do their best and enjoy the process along with it. The daily afterschool practices held on zoom helped the students a great deal to be efficient and learn time management, for the competition was time-limited - every aspect of meal planning and presentation was to be finished within a specific period of time.

On the final day, Hishika Shah and Havisha Bajaj represented Greenlawns from the junior section, and Sharanyaa Mehta and Ishika Mahavar represented the senior section. All the participants gave their best to prepare appetizing meals.
We proudly announce that Havisha Bajaj stood 3rd from the juniors!
Unlike other competitions, the ‘young chefs’ seemed happy after the event because they ‘all’ won in a way, if not prizes then certainly new recipes!
